Faceless as mannequins and inspired by body postures in advertisements of children's jeans, the Hard Candy series takes up a humorous approach to the often questionable body ideals presented by the fashion industry. The sculptures are imagined as a gang of fossilized, abstracted yet familiar, cute yet brutalized creatures, transmitting a hardness, uncanniness, brutality, and bittersweetness of the pornification of children's bodies.
