"This is the street where you live, this is the street where you were born, this is the street where you were, given your actual form, every day, every morning, when you wake up surprised and restored, you rise up from a damp basement, and climb up your spinal cord." Those are the opening lines of the first collaboration between Alexander Holm and Miriam Kongstad, consisting of two separate sound pieces developed during 2020. Unfolding within an alluring, sensorial, and dystopian universe of spoken word and sound compositions, the listener is guided through a landscape, slippery in size, which juxtaposes body, architecture, and metaphysics. Inspired by guided meditations, game structures and cynical magic, the two protagonists of the release are a poem by Miriam Kongstad and samples of the harmonica by Alexander Holm. In the piece Chimera, we follow an existence on a quest through a murky, yet intimate landscape in simultaneous regeneration and decay. A fluctuating loop, akin to the rhythm of the human pulse, gives shape to the piece Homeostasis, encapsulating a hypnotizing environment, a breathing space, and energetic drift.
